Can One Line Build Archimedes' 2,200-Year-Old Water Machine?
BEHIND THE WORK
Can a single continuous line build Archimedes' legendary 2,200-year-old water pump?
Invented in Syracuse around 250 BC, the Archimedean screw lifts water against gravity through rotating helical flights. Here, a single continuous space curve weaves the primary helical blade, descends through the central drive shaft, ascends the second opposing flight, and encloses the mechanism within an outer cylindrical casing.
