Can Math Fold Infinity into 3D?

BEHIND THE WORK

Can math fold infinity into 3D?

One point follows x = cos t, y = sin 2t, and z = 0.45 sin 5t. The x- and y-coordinates first create the familiar flat infinity symbol. Then z moves the same point forward and backward five times, lifting the crossing into a continuous three-dimensional sculpture.

Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.
