18 Triangles Twist Into a 3D Staircase

BEHIND THE WORK

Can 18 flat triangles rise into a three-dimensional staircase?

One point draws the same triangle 18 times. At level k, the triangle is scaled by 0.92^k, rotated by 5.5 degrees times k, and lifted to height 0.20k. Connecting every level turns a simple flat polygon into a twisted architectural structure, then the completed form rotates to reveal its depth.

Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.
