160 Rows Twist Into a Mathematical Horn

BEHIND THE WORK

Can one continuous line twist a mathematical surface into a helical horn?

Two inputs move each point. The angle u travels around the surface while v moves from the rim toward the tip. The sine terms wrap each row into a circle, the logarithm bends the profile into a horn, and the +bu term lifts each turn into a helix. A single serpentine path scans 160 rows before the completed Dini surface rotates in 3D.

Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.

THE MATHEMATICAL RULE

x=asin(v)cos(u)x=a sin(v) cos(u)y=asin(v)sin(u)y=a sin(v) sin(u)z=a[cos(v)+ln(tan(v/2))]+buz=a[cos(v)+ln(tan(v/2))]+bu
