Can a 71° Jump Weave This?

BEHIND THE WORK

Can a 71° jump weave this?

A Maurer rose begins with the six-petal polar curve r = sin(6θ). Instead of tracing the petals in order, line k jumps to θₖ = 71°k. Its endpoint is xₖ = rₖ cos(θₖ), yₖ = rₖ sin(θₖ), where rₖ = sin(6θₖ). From k = 0 to 360, one fixed angular step connects the rose into a dense geometric lattice.

Artismathic turns equations into visual art—one function at a time.

THE MATHEMATICAL RULE

θk=71°kθₖ = 71°krk=sin(6θk)rₖ = sin(6θₖ)xk=rkcos(θk),yk=rksin(θk)xₖ = rₖ cos(θₖ), yₖ = rₖ sin(θₖ)k=0,1,…,360k = 0, 1, …, 360
